The HDWD Advisory Panel consists of self-advocates, parents, advocacy groups, and state-and community organizations dedicated to health promotion and wellness for people with disabilities. The Advisory Council is an important and integral part of the project and its member provide information, technical assistance and expertise in health and disability-related areas.
The current HDWD Advisory Panel has more than forty active members and meets every other month for two hours to discuss health-and disability related topics, needs, activities, and policies and to plan and implement needed health promotion and prevention activities. Meetings alternate between an upper and lower Delaware location to accommodate all HDWD advisory panel members with their travel.
